3 Must-Shop Environmentally Conscious Brands

BY JAU’MORE WILSON, BLOGGER

We are the change generation; the generation that votes with our ballot and with our dollar. We have the power to ignite international change with the use of social media platforms, and while it is astonishing that we can influence the world to do better, we must start with ourselves by relearning what we know about environmental injustice.

To make a difference for this Earth, we must not only look to the ocean but to our closets, bathrooms and bank statements. Are we purchasing from sustainable businesses? Are the companies we support actively making a positive impact for our planet’s future? Here is a list of companies where you can purchase sustainable apparel and cosmetics.

Pact — Clothing

Pact claims to be “Earth’s favorite clothing.” The brand, whose namesake is a promise to the people and to the planet, sells simple clothing pieces in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Alongside typical clothing pieces, it also sells maternity clothing and undergarments. Pact is  Global Organic Textile Standard certified 100% organic cotton as well as Fair Trade certified. Pact CEO Brendan Synnott was a cast member on season 18 of Survivor and the founder of Bear Naked, an organic granola company. Synnott said in the video posted by Pact, “the fashion industry is the second most toxic industry on the planet … nobody knows where their clothes come from.” With Pact, you know exactly what you’re buying.
