My name is Hannah Mazanec, I am a senior studying fashion merchandising with a marketing minor. I have been working at Variant Magazine for about a year now. I have written a few blogs about the origins of streetwear, cruise recommendations for a vacation, as well as how fashion trends are perceived among different body types.
I have also occasionally helped out with makeup for some of last year’s photoshoots. The reason I wanted to apply to become a part of the Exec team here for Variant was because I loved the people that I worked with in the past and I also just enjoy the art of makeup.
I have been playing around with my mom’s makeup since I was a little girl. When I was about 11 years old I started to watch YouTube tutorials and practice different looks on myself even though I was completely horrible at it.
As I kept practicing I grew to love makeup way more than I ever thought and became much better at figuring out how to do things on my own. Makeup has always been a side hobby for myself and I never really went out in public with looks on since I used to get made fun of in high school for it, so being able to be a part of Variant for makeup is very surreal for me.
I am just starting to figure out how to make content so I do not have my own makeup page yet but my Instagram is @Hannah_Mazanec!
Outside of Variant, I work for Campus Recreation but other than that I love to paint, thrift, binge shows and movies, and hangout with my friends.
