There have been quite a few blockbuster movies and new TV shows released and some that are coming up soon. Here are some of these movies and TV shows to look out for:

Outer Banks Season 2

Netflix’s original series “Outer Banks” is back for a season two. With the success of season one, we knew John B. and the pogues would be back for more action and adventure. With it being released on July 30, it has already become quite the phenomenon. Season two picks up right where season one left off with John B. and Sarah Cameron following the Royal Merchant’s gold to the Bahamas and Pope, JJ, and Kiara back in the Outer Banks dealing with the consequences of season one’s events. This is surely a show/season you do not want to miss.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Marvel has been providing its fans with a lot of content this year. From “Wandavision” to “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” to “Loki” to “Black Widow” and even more movies and TV shows coming up, Marvel has been busy. This new movie will be part of the new phase four that “WandaVision” started. This movie is about Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. Look out for this movie releasing on September 3, 2021.

Dune

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya have been creating a buzz with their new movie “Dune”. This movie is actually a new adaptation of the original 1984 production by David Lynch and is based on the book as well. The story line focuses on Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. “Dune” will be released on October 22, 2021 in theaters and straight to HBO Max.

What If…?

A new Marvel show is coming to Disney +. This show is unlike anything Marvel has done before. This will be the MCU’s (Marvel Cinematic Universe) first animated show. Season one will consist of nine episodes. “What If…?” goes into plot points in the MCU and looks at them as if another event occurred and how it would affect the MCU today. Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, said one of the first things they explore is “what if” Peggy Carter was given the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rodgers. This show also features late actor, Chadwick Boseman, as the voice of King T’Challa (Black Panther), since he was able to record the character’s voice work before his death in 2020. The first episode will be released on Disney + on August 11, 2021.

West Side Story

Starring Ansel Elgort as Tony and introducing Rachel Zegler as Maria, “West Side Story” tells the story of the forbidden romance between Tony and Maria. This movie is based on the Broadway musical and a remake of the original film from 1961. This story has a “Romeo and Julie” type of story to it, but with song and dance and rivalry and violence. This movie will be released on December 10, 2021.

The Kissing Booth 3

Lee, Elle and Noah are back again for more in “The Kissing Booth 3”. After the success of Netflix’s first two movies of the series, it is no surprise they are back for a third and final installment. To be released on August 11, 2021, this movie takes place the summer before Elle and Lee go off to college but Elle must make a decision. Does she go to Berkeley with her lifelong best friend? Or does she go to Harvard to follow her love, Noah?

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

The Nine-Nine is coming back for a final season that will air on August 12, 2021. The season will pick up with Amy coming back from maternity leave and with the Nine-Nine working a case. Everyone is surprised to see how long this show has lasted, given it was canceled once before. Now that the show is officially coming to an end, it is leaving fans with a bitter-sweet feeling. This season will be filled with laughs like always and cases that will leave you wondering, “Who did it?”

He’s All That

Many are familiar with the movie “She’s All That” starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook. This movie is a modern remake of that iconic late 90s film. Starring Addison Rae as Padgett Sawyer and Tanner Buchanan as Cameron Kweller, this movie is about when Padgett’s humiliating on-camera breakup goes viral, she makes a risky bet to save her reputation. She swears she can turn scruffy antisocial Cameron into prom king material. This movie is set to premiere on Netflix on August 27, 2021.
