If there’s one show that everyone is talking about right now, it’s “Euphoria.” The HBO hit is centered around a group of highschoolers and struggles that they face concerning sex, social media, and drug use.
Not only do people love Euphoria for its message, but for the makeup and clothing worn by the characters. Euphoria has encaptured and inspired viewers by dressing characters in the latest of fashion brands such as I.AM.GIA, Stella Mccartney, and Realisation Par, as well as different methods of makeup such as glitter and rhinestone eye makeup.
Euphoria costume designer, Heidi Bivens, is no newbie to styling. From styling Jonah Hill’s “Mid90s” to Harmony Korine’s “Spring Breakers,” Heidi has been in the industry for quite some time.
Before becoming a costume designer, Heidi had her sights set on becoming a director. After attending Hunter College in New York City, she eventually secured an internship at Paper Magazine. After working behind the scenes, Bivens decided that it was something she wanted to continue doing as she fell in love with. Fast forward to now, Heidi is working on one of the biggest shows of the past five years that features one of our generation’s most critically acclaimed actresses, Zendaya.
Bivens has done an incredible job bringing forth what a teenager in 2021 would look like. Her wardrobe design is well thought out and put together, bringing forth the true essence of each character.
Not only does Bivens tailor each character’s outfit to their personality, but as each of the characters undergo different situations, their outfits show resemblance to their current state of mind.
