When pop culture enthusiasts hear the number 27, most automatically think of the 27 Club. This “club” is a group of popular musicians, artists or actors who died at age 27. Now, when most people hear the number 27 they will think of Cleveland-native Machine Gun Kelly’s 27 Club Coffee Shop.

According to its website, 27 Club Coffee offers “decadent coffees, delicious food and themed cocktails.” Upon entering the coffee shop, customers are greeted by MGK’s first MTV Music Award. Its extensive menu is intended to “satisfy your coffee needs, first meal of the day decisions, lunchtime fuel and after-lunch libations.” While you can’t go wrong with one of the many coffee or smoothie options, I highly recommend the classic iced vanilla latte, or if you’re looking for something to match the aesthetic of the cafe’s pale pink walls and neon lights, opt for the signature pink latte featuring a natural pink sugar rim and pink milk of choice.
My iced latte paired perfectly with the baked egg scramble, but the cafe offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options, from smoothie bowls to chicken and waffles to pizza. 27 Club Coffee isn’t just your typical coffee shop; it also offers five signature cocktails and a long list of wine and craft beer selections, including Athens’ own Jackie O’s Pale Ale. While the drinks are not that expensive, the meal options can be on the pricey side, depending on what you get, but are well worth the investment!

The 27 Club is located at 1215 W. 10th St. and is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Kitchen closes at 3 p.m.) and Friday through Sunday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Kitchen closes at 4 p.m.).
